National Association of Conservation District Annual Poster Contest

The General Details

The Annual NACD Poster Contest provides students the chance to have their art displayed as part of a national conservation outreach initiative.

The contest starts at the District or County level where Conservation District staff or volunteers go to classrooms, clubs, homeschool, etc., and speaks about the theme topic or run an activity about the topic and introduce the poster contest rules. The posters can be turned in at another time giving the student time to research and fine-tune their art.

When?

This contest typically runs (meaning submissions may be entered to National) between February 20 to December 1.

Each county then decides who wins First place in each grade category. Those advance to the state level.

NOTE: Individual posters should be submitted to the State Poster Contest Coordinator, Patty at the Tuscola Conservation District. Patty's email is: patty.mcninch@macd.org

What happens next?

Tuscola CD will gather judges, usually board members, and selects 1st 2nd and 3rd places for each category - these winners receive a prize! First place winners of the State competition are sent to National Contest, where they receive recognition at NACD’s annual meeting in February of the following year.
